In dating - what's for you won't pass you ?

We all grew up with our parents drumming this phrase into our minds when something bad happened, to make us feel that better things are ahead.  We all know that in the grand scheme of things that it was a prophecy that turned out to be correct.  When we say correct we mean we have no way of knowing what the other outcome could have been so we are glad with this one.  In dating that is a little different as many pass on people due to some ick or facial feature not matching their desired idea of perfection but that person would have been the perfect partner if they had given them a chance.

So why do singles pass on a good thing without giving it a second?  The main reason is over the past 10 years we have been told that “we can do better”, “there could be a better one next” - that there is an endless abundance of singles that are perfect for you, so just swipe and swipe to your heart's content.  The real fact is there is not an endless number of singles and given the fact that 90% of singles are not willing to travel more than 45 mins for a date (not to mentioned to other issues people dismiss others on like height, kids, smoking, etc)  states that the concept of endless is smaller than you were told.

With this knowledge that we are swiping in a much smaller dating pool than we are told and that the fact that dating fatigue has become a real talked about term, one must ponder and ask the question; are dating apps trying to help us find someone or just trying to keep us on their merry gamification wheel of what is for you is just around the corner.  The next question should be “what did we expect this dating app to actually do for us?”  For most singles the reason or installing was to find love, a partner, our soul mate - we never knew it would take so much work and require so much brain power, often resulting in mental torture for many.

Mental torture as it may, there is little choice for singles.  Especially with the decline of pub life and the total decimation of the rural night club, all singles now know that they have to be on dating apps in order to have any chance of meeting someone - whether they like them or not.  With so many eager singles, it's no wonder that dating apps companies generate billions in profits each year.  Where shareholders discuss cost of client acquisition and churn rate like its moderately helpful information to a single person in Ireland trying to find love.

At Katch we know there are many singles out there right now that are the perfect match for you and our goal is get you face to face with those persons as quickly as possible.  So to ensure that, what's for you will not pass you.
